Blog CellPhone Signal has acquired press images of T-Mobile’s HTC G2 handset we are due to see announced in the not-to-distant future. The G2 will be T-Mobile’s first HSPA+ phone, and CPS is reporting that the specifications will look like this: Android OS with HTC Sense UI, 3.7-inch OLED display, 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, slide-out full-QWERTY keyboard, 5 megapixel camera, aGPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and optical trackpad. Looks pretty nice to us, what do you think?

UPDATE: As you may have noticed the device pictured seems to be running a stock versions of Android without SenseUI; despite what CellPhone Signal is reporting.

These days, trying to score an HTC EVO 4G is like trying to photograph a giant squid; you know that both exist, and it should technically be possible, but they are nearly impossible to find. Remember that Verizon Wireless roadmap we leaked? Well, it’s all coming together pretty nicely. We have just got our hands on images of one of the upcoming HTC devices we wrote about. Our source describes the phone as being an EVO in a larger and more polished Nexus One body; brushed aluminum, very upper end of the market, you get the picture. “It makes the Droid 2 look like a kids toy,” our source told us. No word on if it is a global device, although… we’re betting it is. From what we can see the device has an 8 megapixel camera with dual-LED flash, kickstand, 4.3-inch screen, 3.5 mm headphone jack, and, wait for it… a front facing camera.

We don’t have a release date yet (or a name), but we’re already counting down the days until we can get one of these in our offices.

It looks like shipped-roms is at it once again. The site has just posted a full DROID Incredible Android 2.2 build Rom Upgrade Utility (RUU) exe file. The firmware has radio 2.15.00 07.28 and is ready and waiting for all of you with access to the a machine running Windows. If you’ve been anxiously waiting to get Froyo on your DROID Incredible, here is your unofficial chance. We’re going to flash this onto one of our DIs and report back with the findings. Let us know if you have any success!

UPDATE: We got the firmware all installed. Visually there aren’t many changes to the devices UI however… Flash 10.1 and 3G Mobile Hotspot capabilities are pre-loaded with this firmware build, Google’s Voice Actions were not pre-installed but are available in the Android Market, and the signal-meter issue (meaning the signal-meter only showing one bar when it has ample service) still seems to be there.

It looks like the Windows Phone 7 stork will be making plenty of deliveries to AT&T when the OS if officially released. Engadget was sent another image of this HTC semi-sliding, Windows Phone 7 device… and it looks pretty sexy. As you can see, the device partially slides out in the landscape orientation to reveal not a keyboard, but a large speaker. The device, which is currently being called the T8788, is also reported to have a kickstand on the back; making this puppy seem pretty media-centric. What do you think of the sliding speaker? You like?

First Google killed the HTC Nexus One, then resurrected it for developers, and now the phone is just plain-old out of stock. In a quick blog post today, Google wrote:

A couple of weeks ago, we arranged that registered developers could buy an unlocked Nexus One via their publisher page in Android Market. We think it’s a good development platform and a nice phone. Apparently, you agree. Somewhat too many of you, in fact; we blew through the (substantial) initial inventory in almost no time, and they’re back-ordered from HTC, who are doing a pretty good job of managing runaway success amid a worldwide AMOLED shortage. Everyone appreciates that it’s important to the platform to get phones in the hands of developers, so we’re working hard on re-stocking the shelves; stand by.

If you have a Nexus One, hold it close. If you yearn for a Nexus One… absence makes the heart grow fonder. No?

Are Google and HTC planning to launch an Android tablet on Verizon Wireless before the holidays? According to Download Squad, yes. They even have the launch date pegged for November 26th — Black Friday, of course! While it isn’t a surprise Google wants this thing out in the market ASAP, it is a little strange that this is the first we’re hearing of it. In any case, if the rumors hold true, we could be looking at a very heavily subsidized device by Verizon. Possibly even free, though $199 would sound more reasonable. As far as specifications go, here is what’s being reported: the device will most probably be based on NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 platform, have 2 GB of RAM, a 32 GB SSD, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, front-facing camera, and a 1280 x 720 multitouch display. Now, couple that with the rumored Motorola and Samsung tablets and we’d say Google really isn’t playing around anymore.
